Create and manage Customers (Browser)
Updated over a week ago

In this article, we will go through how to create and manage your customers. You can also create customers while creating a quote or a job, but sometimes it can help to have them loaded into the system in advance.

Customer main view

When you click on the Customer icon in the main menu, you will be taken to the customer main view. This will display your customers in a list with columns that you can customise.

  1. This shows customer views and shortcuts to Import customers as well as access to Settings

  2. This allows you to add filters to filter down the customer list

  3. These icons allow you to add/remove columns as well as group customers

  4. This icon will allow you to export the current displayed list to csv or excel

Creating a Customer

To Create a customer click the create button in the top left hand corner.

This will open up the customer create wizard. All of the fields with a red asterisk or underlined in red are mandatory and must be completed (Name and Primary Address). If you want the customer to be able to receive SMS or email notifications, you will need to populate the Phone and Email fields (for SMS, the phone number must include the country code).

You can also optionally add additional information here if required for your customer. Once you're ready, click the create button and you have created your customer!

Managing your customers

Once you have created your customer, you can add additional sites (locations), contacts and get an overview of jobs and invoices as well.

Sites

In the sites tab, you can add additional locations for this customer. This will allow you to select from more locations when you are creating a job for the customer. You can give the sites a name so it's easier to identify.

Contacts

The contacts tab allows you to add additional points of contact for the customer. This can be useful as alternate contacts on quotes, jobs or invoices.

Jobs

The Jobs tab gives you easy access to current and past jobs for the customer. This can be helpful if you're speaking to the customer and want a quick overview of what is outstanding or what has been previously completed.

Map

The map view will display the customer locations on a map for you to be able to easily see at a glance. This can be helpful for scheduling or travel purposes.

History

History tab shows a list of changes for the customer. These are date and time stamped for audit purposes.

Finance

The finance tab is divided up into two sections, quotes and invoices. These will display any current or past quotes/invoices that the customer may have.

Now that you know all there is to know about customers, let's learn about how to create a job or a quote!
